For ease and quick accessibility, I have used a cellphone to capture these images. In contrast to my other work, where I use film processes and alternative printing techniques—I am able to be less precious with each shot and take quite a few until I find a great viewpoint. Occasionally, there will be a slug or a spider hiding amongst the gills, which feels so magical. It reminds me that there is this huge bustling world outside of humans that just keeps going about its business, regardless of what is going on in “our world.”
